In today’s episode we are discussing parent burnout.

I had the honor of interviewing Shelley Kemmerer for this topic. Shelley is the founder of Run Tell Mom, L.L.C. and in her business she assists new / expectant parents with navigating their transition into parenthood by providing customizable resources to optimize their parental experience. Shelley prioritizes parental wellbeing in order to avoid parental burnout. We are going to get into the details of that in today’s episode.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Shelley’s background and how she started her parental wellness consulting company

  • Modifiable factors to slow things down, i.e. moderate social media use

  • What parental burnout is and how it happens

  • Adrenal fatigue and stress overdrive

  • The importance of creating an ecosystem of parental resources

  • The importance of breath work and what it does for our autonomic nervous system

  • How the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system works

  • What my goal is with Finding Your Village

  • BRAIN acronym when considering a proposed medical intervention/procedure: Benefits, Risks, Alternatives, Interval/Intuition, Next best thing
